The former Lithuanian Minister of Defence, Audrius Butkevicius, who supervised the Russian troops’ pullout from Lithuania, a fledgling state in the early 1990s, has spent most of his time thereafter abroad, in Georgia first and, currently, in Ukraine, where he shares his military know-how with the Ukrainian Minister of Internal Affairs.
